This place was the best part of the whole journey. The scenery is superb and the winds were so relaxing. A must visit for all tourists to Vietnam.

Vietnam Trip Part 2

More Pics..

Rain Rain and Rain. But i heard it was much worse in Singapore. The rain surely dampen our mood but that didnt stop us from venturing all to see the night streets of Vietnam.

Some Discoveries i made in Vietnam.

1) There is no Macs even in the biggest cities like Hanoi and Ho Chin Minh. The only fast food outlet i could find was KFC and i think the number of oulets is fewer than 5. So if you are not used Vietnamese food you better bring your own.
2) The road junctions do not have traffic lights. So it was super chaotic when you try to cross the junctions. You have to be braved and take risks cos the motorbikes will never stop for you unless you go in front of them and get horned by them. Certain popular junctions will be stationed by these tourist police who will help all those faint hearted tourist to cross the road.
3) Service is really good. Be prepared to see lots of smiles and hear friendly greetings every restaurant and hotel you go to.

Vietnam Trip Part 1

I came back from Vietnam with a much more appreciative mind. Though i have been to many other backward countries, Vietnam was where i learn a lot more. Maybe i went for this trip with a much more open mind. Rather than i go on and on i will show the pictures i haven taken instead.







This is where the Vietnamese dug tunnels to hide and counter attacks from the Americans during the Vietnam War. What i learnt from half a day spent there crawling through really small and dark tunnels, seeing the torture methods invented by the Viets is that war is cruel and it brings out the evil side of human beings.

Other tourist attractions in Ho Chin Minh City. Really nothing spectacular but still worth going to see. One must go place for shopoholics is this Night Market which I forget wads its called its something similiar to Shanghai Xiang Yang Lu where you will be dazzled by the amount of stalls.Oh ya was really surprise to see yvonne there and goodness me she bought like bags of stuff. All fake goods but the silk stuff from what i heard is worth the buy. The general rule is bargain till abt 30% of what they asked for. But be prepared to buy something if you stop at the stall as some owners are super aggressive and will plead and pull your hands till you agree. And also the heat cos the place is really packed to the brim.

Vienamese Restaurants are really very well decorated and clean but food wise i am not too sure, Maybe i am a super fussy eater but the food is really not to my liking, Every morning i will gorge myself to the breads in the hotel and bear till the night where i will call for room service. Dun be shocked if the restaurant blacks out cos it is rather common in this country where electricity supply is still very unsteady.

Woke up at 3pm today with a terrible headache. Think i drank too much yesterday cos the whole night i was blurping away. My tolerance level for alcohol is dipping like mad. Haha. But so glad to see hl, xp and lp, seems like ur all have grown up leaving me behind. The stuff we chat now are so diff from our jc days, and guess all of us have our fair share of problems. I am so happy for lp tat she is coping well now and i know those setbacks wouldnt pull her back. Hl is still as chirpy as usual and 2 yrs in Aussie hasnt really changed her much. U are still the same hl we knew 5 yrs ago. Look forward to meeting ur after i come back next week k.

Captain Planet Speaks

Captain Planet is very very tired.. Tired from talking. Tired from explaining. Tired from reasoning. Tired from complaining. Tired from entertaining. Tired from joking. What Captain Planet needs most is rest and sleep. He doesnt wanna say anymore cos the more he say he worse its gets. Two more days and he will be away. This hol will be a perfect escape for him, he no longer needs to keep the ppl around him happy but rather let himself be happy. He can for once not speak and ppl wun think he is angry or throwing tantrums. He can just do what he wants and not always fit to others. He can say wad he wants and not afraid ppl will misread. Lets hope Captainplanet will come back as a better and happier person who will bring joy to ppl around him.

Today is a really long day. Slept at 5am last night (thank U for being there) and woke up at 930 just in time for the bidding of subjects. Yippee.. At least got one class which is the same as my current tutorial ppl. Two hours of non stop checking of electives and numbers made me really blur. Lunch was with my family at Genko Restaurant at River View Hotel for Jap Buffet. Very good service from the staff but the food was just very average considering the steep price. Maybe i was also too tired to eat so even the best delicacies cant perk me up. Following tat was 5 hrs of KTV with xh,gab and wins. Our first KTV outing and now i know each of ur power. Ha. Gb had the tickets for the Superstar Recording and off we went to mediacorp. First time watching a recording show so was kinda excited. Except the long long wait, i reached home only like 12pm, the rest of it was entertaining enough. Watching Quan Yi Feng and Jeff Wang "ng" and hearing their jokes certainly made my day. Easily highlight of the week.

Tmr i will finally get to meet huilin. Its been so long since i last saw her. Except all those occasional smses she like disappear from my radar for so long. Looking forward to her jokes and laughter.

Sickening.. Damn irritating.. I typed for so damn long and then the website just hang and all my efforts went down the drain. And worst still nothing was saved.. So now i have to recap on wad i type initially and hopefully be able to write better at my second attempt. This week has been very busy and fulfilling for me which is good so time passes very quickly and soon its friday again. The blogging interest in me seems to be dying off pretty soon but i keep encouraging myself to continue cos this online journal is the best way for me to reflect on wad i have done for the past week. Also, writing is good cos at the same time i can practice writing. haha.. Nonsense again. Yup. I failed my driving test but its only my first attempt. Though it seems like i have been learning for years literally years cos i started on it like almost 3 years ago. I am not sad but just very disappointed with myself. Two weeks ago i was telling myself tat i will surely fail but threee days of intensive lessons and 100% effort on my part made me change my mind. I thought i could do it, but alas sometimes things wun go as planned so i can only accept fate.

Weekend was spent playing mahjong. My all time favourite pastime, not tat i am a gambler but just tat i think its a relaxing game. A lot of ppl say its a waste of time but i see it as an exercise on the brain. MOnday afternoon was spent at ICA extending my passport. Wow, the queue was like super super long. Singaporeans sure know how to enjoy life. One more week and i will be off to vietnam. Looking forward to this hol as its been 1 year since i had i proper hol (minus Genting), and going to a place which i have never been before so its kinda exciting. Also, year end hols are always a good opportunity for quality family time. Considering how busy my parents and siblings are, it certainly will bring our relationship to a higher level.

Tues was with gb and hh watching Casino Royale. Not a bad show with all those chasing and fighting scences, just like a typical jackie chan movie. Its those kinda show which u just watch and forget. Nothing to think abt after the show just wow at the exciting stunts. Weds and thurs was back to sch, and working really hard during those time. Painting banners and doing up the notice board, tiring but the company was goof so the whole experience was less painful and more enjoyable. Dinner was at Vivo with zy, xh and joo, my second visit in a week. Still had hordes of ppl there which puzzled me cos its isnt exactly an exciting place and its location was kinda bad.
Sat on zy bike there which certainly was an eye opener for me. My first ride on a bike on the main road, very windy experience. Had not for the two bags i was holding the journey would have been more comfortable. The whole time i was clutching my bag and zy shirt tightly cos i was worried tat my laptop and sling bag would just fly off the bike. Boss says i complained too much but seriously the dist between the cars and bike are like so close lol. But i must say the strong winds were certainly very relaxing.

Slpt till like 3pm today, super super tired.. Then off to ZX house for the class BBQ. i must really thank him for offering his place and preparing all the food. I think everyone had a good time and i must say u were really a good host. Looking forward to our next outing.

One down, two more lessons before my driving test on Friday.. From what happen today i seriously doubt my chances of passing, hopefully tmr my hands and legs will be more agile and i can better manage the stupid clutch and accelerator. Dunno if you realise this fact of life which is such tat the ppl u wanna meet are always so far away yet those u dun wanna see just keep coming back. Haha.. Just tat i always seem to get the instructors i hate most. I mean wad are the chances when there are like over 100 Instructors and yet for my first lesson in 6 months i once again got him. Today wasnt tat bad for the first hour, less sarcasm and more constructive comments. But after the damn slope where my car either kept rolling back or the engine kept stalling then the black face and attitude began. But i dun think i can blame him la, considering i tried the slope like 10 times and never once was i successful at 1 go. Never mind, tmr will be better.

Oh ya, i was at clarke quay after tat and i saw one of the superstar contestant. Dunno wads his name la, but he was one of the 4 ugliest i pointed out to xh and joo. Tat reminded me today is superstar day and luckliy i rushed back in time for it. Today's contest was rather plain guess it was the weird song choices. Think the most memorable performance was the duet from F3 and 4.

Tmr tough day man 4 hrs of driving, but hope all this effort will not be wasted.

Finally Done

Although I cannot say that i studied all the time for the past three weeks, but at least i think the effort i put in was as much as i had in me.. A lot of ppl ask me why i appear so confident b4 every paper and dun seem to care less. I could sleep for like more than 1 hour or sing along with the songs or walking around or fooling around while the rest were all studying hard in the tutorial room. I oso dunno why but my mentality is tat if i think i had studied enough regardless of how much time i spent that why want to appear unsure. I mean if the rest could do it why cant u? Why make urself inferior if u think u have already studied as much as u could. Anyway exams are over and i hope i din do tat badly. I understand that one reap wad he sow so i dun expect extremely good grades but at least something decent ba. I hope all the good luck and best wishes from friends will come handy when i receive my grades. Ha..

After yest paper which ended at 730, i felt so exhausted - mentally and physically. Very tired but still managed to join the rest of the class for dinner at Swensons. Spent 5 hrs at K Box today, which certainly help to ease some pain in my head.. Haha.. I am looking forward to the rest of the hols, cos tat means meeting with a lot of long lost friends and going overseas.

I am so not looking forward to tomorrow man, cos its back to driving lessons. Its been like 5 months since i last drove and i totally dun see myself being in a position where i would pass for the test which will be on friday. I hope tmr i will be in a good mood so tat i wun snap at the instructors sarcasm and black face.

Woohoo.. Exams Coming

Counting from today, i still have effectively 4 more days before my first Exam Paper in 3 years.. Wow.. Long long time since i last sat for an exam so i am kinda looking forward to it. Haha.. Sounds weird but i like the feeling of getting back exam results. Two weeks since i last updated on my status, not much changes just tat academic wise shd be cleverer by a bit. Ha. Happy Bdae Daddy. And Wins n Jun Zi hope ur like the 'surprise' Bdae party which i was the main organiser and my acting was good lol. Minus the laughing. And Also YH, meet up soon so i can pass u ur pressie. 16 days later and the blog entries will be longer. Ha..
